Pause eBay while you show on Whatnot
Cross-listers who sell on eBay and go live on Whatnot need one inventory and a way to avoid double-selling. This flow imports your live eBay listings, ends the ones in your show, then uses Whatnot's order CSV to mark sold items and relist the rest.
Steps
- Connect eBay in Marketplace options if you have not already.
- On My listings or Whatnot show sync, tap Import from eBay. Active listings become inventory rows (matched later by SKU).
- Open Whatnot show sync (/app/shows). Pick the items in tonight's show. Prefer items with a Custom label (SKU).
- Tap Start Whatnot show and confirm. Listing Ventures ends those live eBay listings (Ending reason: Not Available) so they can be relisted after.
- Optional: Export these for Whatnot to download a CSV for Seller Hub or your show.
- After the show, upload Whatnot's Weekly Orders or Shipments CSV. Sold items stay ended on eBay. Leftovers can be relisted in one batch.
Why end instead of pause
eBay's out-of-stock quantity trick only works if the seller turned on Out of Stock control. Ending with Not Available and then Relist works for every seller and is the safer default.
Safety
- Every eBay write uses your connected account and asks for a clear confirm.
- Import is read-only. Refresh from eBay stays read-only.
- Actions are logged (show id, eBay item id, action, result). Automated tests always run in dry-run mode and never call End or Relist against production.
Show prep (numbers, labels, prices)
Before you start the show you can number items (A1, A2, …), print pick labels, set starting bids from sold comps, and export a Whatnot CSV with the show number in the title. Details: /help/whatnot-show-prep.
